In the children’s book The Little Prince, the prince meets a flower on a foreign planet, and he asks where all the people are. The flower tells him “One never knows where to find them. The wind blows them away. They have no roots, and that makes their life very difficult.”

I’ve been learning a lot about roots lately. They show you how much you’ve grown. They remind you who you are. You need them. I need them.

I’m excited to reconnect with sweet friends I haven’t seen in nearly 10 years and über patient parents I haven’t seen in more than a year. It’s time to get back to my roots. So let’s get this weekend started. (Texas, watch out. I’m still a terrible driver. )
